Basically, everything that is specific to your engine, you keep and swap it onto the other engine.

The block i built for my car was out of a 95 Caddy. I just used Fbody heads on it. My buddy had the Caddy intake powder coated and used it on his car for a long time.

The Fleetwoods 94-96 had the "Impala" LT1 as the only engine option.
Shortblock is the same as a same year f-body.

If I were you I would enjoy this oportunity to keep the vebnted opti setup as opposed to the unvented that came on the f-body. The b-body or d-body in the case of the Fleetwood got the vented in 94.

People here will make a big deal over the heads and cam being different but they will work just fine provided your tune is right for them. The vented opti I believe will not work right with your cam for the spline drive.

The iron heads flow slightly better, but weigh a ton more.

Then why is it that the iron head cars came from the factory with 87 octane tuning and run quite well on it?

The weight difference is under 50lbs, yes they are heavy but we are talking about what a 3500lbs car here 50lbs is nothing to get upset over

Didn't they put a "small" Lt1 in those cars also? Be careful.

Why is it that the f-body crowd can not accept that other cars got the LT1.

The LT1 was the standard engine and only engine in the 94-96 Roadmaster sedan , Fleetwood, Impala, Roadmaster wagons and Caprice wagons. The L99 you are refering too was for all practical purposes ONLY offered in the Caprice sedan civilian or police. There is some evidence of a SINGLE L99 Caprice wagon having been made.
