95 Lt1 - Blown gasket / warped head - REPAIR??
Hey guys,
To make this a short post...
- Bad water pump
- Wife drove car till hot (apparently very hot)
- Either warped the head or blew the head gasket (Hopefully didn't crack it)
So...I need to know if anyone knows on a scale of 1-10 how hard this would be to do myself. My knowledge of working on the car extends to replacing the optispark 2 times and water pump once (Unfortunately, that was after the fact)...
Any help/opinions you guys may be able to provide would be much appreciated.
Thanks,
Jason

It's about an 8 on a scale of being tough. I've never been so frustrated in my whole life. Do you have something else to drive. If so take the heads off, get them machined, valve job, new seals etc. Then put a new set of headgaskets on, reinstall heads and you're good to go.
Basically what he said, the stock exhaust manifolds made this job more difficult than it should have been when I was pulling my heads off. Other than getting those off along with the intake, it's pretty straight forward. You can probably do it, i just wouldnt attempt unless you have osmething else to drive in the mean time since the machine work thats needed might take a few days to get done.
