95 camaro z28
I just took my car to get scanned because its in really bad shape it shakes and idles really rough like if the timing is off. so the guy at the shop told me it was the crank sensor.the next day i called the dealer to get the part and they told me that these cars dont have a crankshaft position sensor so im comfused can it be the optispark? is the crank sensor intergrated with the optispark?someone please help..
The optispark does have an integral optical pickup. That's where the "opti" in optispark comes from. So it does sound like you need a new optispark. You might want to do some further diagnosis yourself though. It could also be a problem in the wiring. I had to replace the wiring jumper harnes down to my optispark because that became so corroded that the clip broke when I tried to take it off. It wasn't cheap either from the dealer. Anyway Chilton or Haynes manuals have good diagnosis steps for the opti in them. Good luck.
I just got new spark plugs and wires from the dealer i thought it would go away after that but its still the same. also my ses light is not on . it hasnt turned on at all it only turns on when i start the car so i know its working. does this mean its not throwing any codes?
