i have a camaro and i took it to get smogged and it started to almost red line
the guy told me that the fans are not turning on...after it cooled down it passed the smog test ...but the fans didnt come on i checked the fans separate and they both do work the relays all work i checked the power to the relays those all have power i also unplugged the connector in the front of the water pumjp and jumped that plug and the fans turned on...could it be that sender switch or coolant switch im not sure what to call it?? that i unplugged be the problem?

You need some real time scan info to see what temps the computer sees and if it is commanding the fans on.
