I have a 94 z28 that just started stalling out.
Like turning off the switch .
It wont start back up for a few minutes then
it will start and run fine .
but it has been doing this for a few days
at least once a day.
was thinking it was the security but It will
crank over but not start.
the security light does not come on.
had the optispark changed abdominal few months ago
and has run fine till last week.
think it might be the ignition module.
any suggestions ?

Yes it could be the ICM. Also how much fuel do you have. A dying/overheating fuel pump could cause similar symptoms.

When your car has stalled. can you here the fuel pump with the switch on ???
Did you use lock tight on the optispark ??
check to see if you have fire to the plugs the next time it will not start

 

Scan for codes. Low resolution failure in the opti doesn't turn the engine light on.

It had a full tank minus 60 miles or so
Not sure about that, I dont notice it when it runs its quiet

 

As far as the optispark is concerned it is fairly new only a few thousand miles on it, mechanic put it in so I'm not sure about the loctite.
so far this week it hasn't done it just put new gas in it the other day.
I'll take it to autozone and have them scan it
