94 z28 sputter or miss

Hey guys, help with some advice. I have a 94 z-28, 65,000 miles, 6 seeep kan n cold air. I run the car about once a week. Between 1500 and 2000 rpm the car cuts out or sputters and I hear detonation and feels like th car is missing. It has the original distributor cap, rotor and wires. plugs were changed on 35,000 miles. The car will miss for a little and then completley stop missing and you cannot get it to miss. Help any advice appreciated. e- mail bathacker38916@yahoo.com

Sounds like you might have a bad opti, but check the simple stuff first. Plugs/wires (for burning), ICM, coil, fuel pressure, etc.

I have very similiar but would say the car is stumbling. I get a SES light every few starts when cruising. Could this be an opti?
