94 z28 smoking on start and while idling

I just bought a 1994 z28 with 73000 on it. The person that had it before only put 3000 miles on it in 5 years! Since I have owned it I've put 150 miles on it but it smokes on start up and every time I come to idle sitting at a light. I don't know if it could b seals or what is going on!

Sounds like you should do a leakdown test.

Also specify the smoke color (blueish/black/white).

Sorry I forgot to post that. It's coming from the exhaust and it is a light bluish color! Went for a drive earlier today then went home and parked came back a couple hours later and checked the car, there are little drips of oil in several different places under the front end of the car and a few places on the bottom of the exhaust! The car was just recently serviced and they said there were no leaks when they checked

First thing I would do is have the car put up on a rack at any shop. Then they will take a flash light and start searching for leaks.
Loose or wrong oil filter
Oil drain plug with old or no gasket
Intake manifold leak(it's at the back of the engine and runs down the trans )That's what cleared up my smoke problem at startup in my old bird.
Pcv valve could be clogged.
A thicker oil like 30 wt. might help if the oil is getting past the rings or valves causing oil to get burned up
Too much oil in the oil pan?4 1/2 quarts
Every vehicle I have ever owned where too much oil was put in has developed leaks somewhere.Hope this helps.
I have a large piece of cardboard ducked taped on my garage floor so to monitor anything leaking and it's location, the last time was an oil leak from and ac delco oil filter which was fine till I had the new exhaust put on but they dented the oil filter and caused it to leak.Replaced it and all is fine now.My02.

X2 for the leak down test. Do a compression test first, though, both with and without a little, oil squirted into the cylinders.

Oil leaking from the engine won't cause blue oil smoke in the exhaust. Possible sources are very bad valve seals, bad rings or bad PCV valve...
