'94 dual cat. conversion

How easy is it to put dual cat.'s on a 1994 z28? Like the '95 and up z28's. Is it bolt-on.

you will need different manifolds unless you want to do some cutting and welding.. I am pretty sure the I-pipe is the same though.

Actually, 1995 or 1996, starting having two cats in NY and Cali. They are rated at 285 hp as opposed to 275 in the earlier single cat versions. Don't know if that power is actually there, but thta's waht the book says.

I would not waste the time on duel cats if you don't have them already. Spend the time and money and get some headers. Besides it is against FEDERAL LAW to remove or change the number of cats on a car.

Actually the dual cat setup does flow better than the single cat. The cats are run in parallel, not series, the exhaust will flow better through two 2.5" cats vs. one 3" cat.

Even though it does flow better, it's still not worth it to convert to a stock dual cat setup. Now if you were going with aftermarket headers/cats, then it would be worth it.

don't put a dual cat on your car, you won't pass smog in california, anything other than factory cat location won't pass unless you pay somebody off, and in that case you might as well run on ORP
I agree!!

I do not think that putting something on your car that is gonna restrict air flow is gonna add hp. Especially putting dual cats on it. Hell my car "had" dual cats. Had, is the main word there. I could tell a little difference when I chopped those suckers off.
