JB'z 94 I removed MAF screen and cleaned sensors with alcohol, I also removed Ignition Module and and cleaned off dried up heat transfer compound between Ignition Module and the heat sink and applied fresh compound. I still have the low RPM hesitation/stutter but much less severe and much less frequent. Removing the MAF screen and cleaning the MAF seems to have improved response and performance significantly!!!! Somehow I still think my Opti may still be a problem. Has anbody ever replaced the Opti and used the cap over, mine is only 4 mos old.

Rdorr6,
I'm having a similar problem...Mine runs acceptable until the car gets up to temp(190 degres or so), then it starts running like complete crap. After having a new Flowmaster exhaust installed, it is much louder, and I can feel and hear the whole car shake while cruising in overdrive. I can also tell it runs horribly rough while accellerating. No smooth, mellow Flowmaster sound.

It runs almost perfectly smooth until it gets up to temp, then it goes to hell. The optispark, wires and AC Delco Platinum plugs were replaced at 97k miles(now has 129,500 miles). The coil was also replaced with high energy GM Blaster Coil at the same time. It ran decent until recently when my catalytic converter broke apart and clogged my exhaust. I blew all of that out(cat is completely gutted now), and it improved some, but still runs horrible.

Thanks alot for the info Rdorr

I also had a messed up cataylic converter, which was actually making things alot worse, it caused it to heat up much faster than normal, and the car obviously starting missing and such..

I have never messed with optispark.. coil has been replaced once, Im definately taking the MAF out and checking it out, trying to do the less expensive stuff first of course..
