You will need a longer dowel pin and the hole in the front of the cam enlarged to the the size in the the 95+ cam.

I pulled the 94 pin out and went down to Home Depot and bought a metal rod cut it to size then tapped it into the cam. It works fine on my car. + Home Depot is a great place to buy Highperformance parts for cars if you have a imagination.

Pulling the old pin out of the 94 cam is a pain. All you need is a longer pin. like i said i just cut a rod from Home Depot and tapped into the 94 cam so it was long enough did it all myself for like $1

I agree with Rob that the cam would need a larger nose drilling[to fit the 95+ opti..]

Charlie already explained why. That is why I said "why what?".

If you are going to use a vented opti, the front of the cam needs clearance for the part of the opti drive that protrudes. The non-vented optis don't have the protrusion and therefore the cams don't need the hole in them.

Cam used with vented opti on the left in this pic and cam for non-vented on the right.

I just put my engine back together with the hot cam and the dowel pin was only sticking out maybe an 1/8th" or so from the cam gear.
Anyone have a picture of the pin sticking out from the cam gear?
My engine is a 95 Caprice LT1 with a 96 SS Opti and accessories.
I heard that the accessories won't line up due to the crank hub being a little longer on the Caprice, so I am going to look into that as well.

You also need a 95 cam gear, drilling one of those could be done by a machine shop I'm sure, a hand drill wont do it in a reasonable time. Even if your getting a good deal on a used cam, I think you'd probably about break even on price here.
