94 Alternator vs 95
Re: 94 Alternator vs 95
That's what I thought. I have a 94 I'm using as a parts car. I took the brackets off the 94 and placed them on the 95 motor and tried to use the 95 alternator. The brackets didn't line up. These are the support brackets on the back of the alternator. The hole in the back of the alternators is in a different location. So, I put the 94 alternator and and it lined up fine. Also, the power wire hooks up different. The 94 car doesn't run and I bought it that way. So, I don't know if the alternator even works.
Re: 94 Alternator vs 95
If you have an 93 to early 94 alternator (124 Amp), it will have a metal fan and the power cable will connect with a bolt. A late 94 and up alternator (140 Amp) will have a plastic fan and a stud for the power cable.
I am not aware of any mounting bracket difference, though (if they are both F-body alternators). The parts book shows all the brackets the same for 93-97.
