Question 94-95 intake manifold different from 96-97?

the casting numbers dont match so im wondering what exactly is the difference? I had an intake powdercoated which came from a 95 LT1.. my car is a 97.. so i naturally used that intake. Now about a week ago my friend noticed that his old intake off his 95 had a different casting number than my 97 which i gave him for his new motor after i put my cam in. i then went a looked at my new intake and sure enough it matches his old one so they arent the same. what i am wondering is if the difference in heads for those years caused GM to cast new intakes to match? if so then i might be losing some power over this dontcha think! i kinda have feeling not too many people have even noticed they are different.

I've had a bunch of them including from the 4.3 L99 and they all look identical. Maybe they just changed the casting number over the years, but I'm 90% sure they're the same. I guess one of the reasons why I never thought of double checking the numbers....

I bet they just changed the casting numbers when they changed the head castings. I could see GM doing something like that.

BTW Brad- How is that cam doin'? I wanna ride.
