94-95 FPR same as 96-97?

I need a new fuel pressure regulator, and was going to order one from gmpartsdirect.com. I noticed they list the part for the 94-95 cars at around $80, while the 96-97 part is under $40. I though I remembered reading a thread once that said they are in fact the same part, but I couldn't find that thread to see if that was true. Can anyone verify this? Will the cheaper one work for my 94 Z?

Anybody know? I'd really like to know, so I can save $40 if possible. But this part has a 'no return' policy, so I want to make sure before I order...

i put a regulator on my 97 from my 95 just to see if the part was bad on the 97 i never switched it back and everything is working out ok. Bolted up the same way and all couldn't even tell the difference between the 2.

They are the exact same part with two different numbers. I went to the dealer and he wanted $140 for the 94-95 and $80 for the 96-97. The bolt up the same, have the same pressures and work the same.

Thanks a lot for the replies. That was exactly what I was hoping to hear.

I advise you to check the freight on GM Direct. You might be better off going with an aftermarket Adjustable Regulator for the same price. At any rate if you don't want an adjustable one, you still better check the shipping cost of GM Direct.JMHO

I believe Lingenfelter has one for 99.95 plus 8.00 shipping. You could also opt for a Kit which turns your stocker into an adjustable one. This would be even less expensive.

I bought one of the kits (didn't know it was a kit until it came). I believe I got it from LG Motorsports. It has been just fine so far.

BTW: Just noticed a new Adj. regulator, TPIS, in the For Sale area for $55.00. Sounds good to me.
