93z wont start Help!!

I just replaced a colapsed lifter and drove it around the block and out on the highway and back and the next day it would not start. As far as I can tell it has no spark. But it does have power to the coil. I am new to the opti so I dont know if that is the problem. All of the conections that I pulled to do the intake and lifter are back and hooked up. Although I am not sure if the injector wires are pluged into the right spot. I know that its hard to mess them up as they only go on one side and the first two and last to are next to each other. But I may have them switched around. As far as the for instance cylinder one and three. I am trying to sell this thing and all of this stuff keeps going wrong, so I need help. Thanks

injectors batch fire on a 93 so it wont matter if they are switched. as for the no start issue, did the car run normal after the collapsed lifter?

Re: 93z wont start Help!!

Yes it ran normal with a little miss. It was the number 2 cylinder intake lifter. It then ran for the test drive after being fixed. Then yesterday it wouldnt start. I put an in line tester on the number one cylinder and it has no spark. I can't think of anything that i would have unplugged that could have effected the spark.

Thanks for the info about the batch fire. I thought that it was but not sure. Any and all help is welcome.

try starting it with the gas pedal to the floor, this puts it in a limp home mode. maybe it will start and run long enough to diagnose a problem

If it is the OPTI it, the ECM, shuts off the injectors so as not to flood the engine when the problem is solved. so you would not see any power to the injectors. 93Z Ted

I am waiting on a set of niod lights. I have also gone to auto zone to get the coil tested. They said that my coil was bad but they had the wrong numbers off of the computer so it turned out to be ok.

Re: 93z wont start Help!!

Things that may cause no spark: First things to come to mind are your opti harness (take it out and see if there's corrosion, if so, clean good) and ICM. Have you tried grounding a plug while cranking to check for spark, foolproof way. You can do this with the coil wire also to check for spark at the coil. Sudden complete lack of spark I'd think opti or ICM though.

Is the car throwing any codes??
