93 Z28 6 Speed
While flipping through my local auto shopper I came upon a 1993 Chevy Camaro Z28 6 speed. I can't tell from the picture but it appears to be black in color. The car has 61,000 miles on it with power everything. My question is, is $6,899 a good price for this car if everything is mechanically sound? If not what should I offer. Thanks for the help!

that sounds right... if not a little bit of a deal things to look for... make sure its shifting right under all conditions.... check the area under the air elbow (on the silver metal) for spilled/burnt coolant it will look whitesh greenish ... worn seat belts at the top of the seat belt... that shows that its been abused... idles fairly smoothly obviously... look at the radiator from underneith make sure it hasn't been gouged or bent look under car when running look for exhaust leaks... smell the exhaust and rev it high in park... make sure it doesn't smell sweet or otherwise funky and not blowing blue black or white smoke... check for rust obviously... make sure the idle is at 800 for an m6 it may have to idle for a few minutes to come down to its right idle tho... ummm if possible get a carfax done.... check the numbers on the doors and hood and engine... drive it and look for jumping guage needles it they bounce up and down it means a serious problem i forget which exactly tho... rev it to red line once and little to the engine compartment make sure you hear no knocking or pinging popping on the up or down or weirdness check the oil dipstick for sludge obviously make sure its responsive and not feeling restrained or lacking power... ask him which oil and gas hes been using and get a list of all mods

also turn it sharply a few times listen for rearend noise... test the brakes from a good speed like 60 for vibration... make sure theres no cuts in the rotor... see if it pulls etc... ummm i forgot if you siad it was a convertable but if it is i would inspect that in depth... also for t-tops look for rattles and or leaks... thats all i can think of for now... and if any work has been done on it get receipts and shop warrantee info... get the owners manual and stereo code <--- important
