93 motor and m-6 into a 94 body(auto) now car wont start

I just put my 93 motor and m-6 into a 94 body that was a auto, and now my motor won't turn over.I used my 93 computer and harnest. Every thing is connected except the wires under the console from the auto.I have the neutral start switch bypassed right now to get it running, but no luck. Is there something else i need to bypass to make it run. When i turn the key there is a clicking noise coming from under the glove box. My key also will not come out of the ignition, can anyone help me.
Thanks Chad

The motor came out of my running 93z

does your fuel pump turn on? Check to see if when you crank the car the purple wire to the starter is getting any power and go from there. I think the key won't come out of the ignition because of the old shifter for some reason. Doesn't the shifter not being in park physically do something to the column to not allow the key to be removed? That also is possibly the problem as to why the car is not cranking.

Been there, done that.
Your problem is the harness and 93 computer. You will need to switch to a 94 harness and 94 computer or else you will need to do some major wiring modifications.

Oh yes, forgot to mention. The idle air control valve on the 93 is different and will not plug to a 94 harness. You will need to switch throttle bodies or the bottom plate of the throttle body from a 94 one.

Also, you will need to use heated oxygen sensors from a 94+ car. The 93 ones were one wire sensors and will not work with the 94+ harness.

And the last thing, if you plan to NOT use a mass airflow sensor, it will run in speed density mode but it will set a service engine light and the fans will stay on all the time. PCM programming will fix that and I can help if interested.

I dont understand why the harness and computer wont work . It seems like if i use the 94 comp. & harness i will have to change thing to,plus buy the comp. & harness. Is there any thing else i could do? I still have the whole 93 car for parts, wireing to use.I'm on a tight buget so i would rather work on it instead of buying parts.

Is the 94 body a V6 or LT1? What did the body come with?

The harness plugs just fine in the inside connectors but the wires are in different spots. Trust me, I've tried it, only a 94 engine in a 93 car. Had to go with the 93 harness only to avoid a wiring mess. (I didn't have the diagrams at the time)

Hey guy, how about my sig? :-)

There are two harnesses under the hood. One for the engine and one for the body (lights, horns, etc...). I swapped both harnesses under the hood to those from the 93. You have to use the 94 body harness as there is no connector for the low coolant sensor on the 94 v6 harness. I was able to leave the 94 harness inside the car without any problem. I am running a 93 computer as well. You will need to do a little additional wiring for the ALDL to work.

Mine is a little different in that I used a 94 Firebird 3.4 manual and a 93 Z28 M6. Feel free to shoot me email if needed. I did it about 2 years ago so some of the details are a little foggy but I'll do what I can for ya.

Are you using the key from the 94 or the 93? You should be using the one from the 94. I didn't have a key for my 93 (slavage car) and was worried about it until I found out that the computer is not involved in the key ID system.

Does it matter if the comp.& harness is from a 94 m-6 or auto, and will the connectors fit into a 93 m-6?cAN I JUST CHANGE THE HARNESS UNDER THE GLOVE BOX,OR IS THAT A MAJOR PITA.
