93 lt1 can't be tuned at local dyno shop?

Im seriously stumped here. The only dyno shop within 200 miles say they can't dyno tune my car? What should i do about this? My car will be done tuesday and i can't even get a mail order from pcmforless cuz they're closed till the 4th? What other options are available as i want my car running right asap. Also how do i datalog my car so i can send the info too pcmforless or whoever too get the best results?

93s are a bitch to tune because the EPROM needs to be burned each time. You may want to consider converting to a 94+ OBDI PCM that is flashable.

Since this came up can you use a 94 pcm without changing harness? Or do you run into mass air issues?

You don't have a PCM, you have an ECM. To change the tune a new chip must be burned each time. For your combo you MUST start with a mail-order tune/chip. Ideally you need someone who can dyno-tune ECMs and can burn them on-site.

Converting to 94+ requires PCM, harness, a MAF, and a bunch of other things, but for a tuning perspective it's worth it.

You should have ordered your base tune weeks ago from Alvin. Now all you can do is wait and enjoy the holiday.

I have a bolton tune from him but don't wanna run it on this combo. Should i remove the chip i have when i run it at first? Or take the chip out and wait for the new one?

Wait for the baseline tune for the set up you have now.

I'm currently trying to get my Moates AutoProm working correctly. It allows you to real-time tune your engine and then burn a chip for the engine using the AutoProm. That chip is then inserted into the G1 adapter in your PCM.

93's are poo. Look to swapping in a '95 pcm, makes things very easy.

He never even used any of my datalogs. You can fine tune it, but he is very good at getting it right the first time. The less the mods, the easier it is to get it close to perfect.

MikeGyver,
How so? Because you can use LT1Edit? Or you have SEFI? OBD-I LT1 runs just fine but it takes a bit more effort to tune. I'm happy with mine but struggling to get it running for the first time. The AutoProm is a nice unit and cheaper to purchase and run than LT1Edit.

When my car had all boltons i got a custom tune from pcmforless. My cel stayed on and honetly i did not notice a bit of difference before or after. What is involved in swapping a 95 pcm into my car? What's needed for parts? Anyone know a shop in new york that can dyno datalog and burn chips for my car?
