93-97 jet hot headers?

Does anyone here have any jet hot headers. I won some on ebay but there was no paper work with the headers. They are brand new and are suppose to be the 2231-1. They are hooker super comps number but I heard the jet hot is a copy of them. The number one cylinder primary is seperate and pushes into the header. Is this right? I think jet hot shows a pic of the header but it is for an ls1 not the lt1 longtube. Can anyone help?

Jet hot started manufacturing thier own style of LT1 long tubes about 2 years ago. They are almost identical to the Hookers but use heaver material for the tubing and head flange. Jet Hots design also uses the slip fit for #1 primary. I've had mine on for almost 2 years and havn't had any problems at all

They look identical to the link provided so I guess they are the correct ones. I got the for 500 shipped so I saved a few dollars. Was it really a big PITA to do the drivers side? If so what did you do? I got no destructions with these headers!! Any help would be appreciated!!

Well, I will just say that it was a PITA. Scroll about halfway down my install guide.... you can read ALLLL about my drivers side fiasco, lol.

Re: 93-97 jet hot headers?

I don't know why there were problems with that particular car, but I've removed lt's from a car and installed them on my car, and the drivers side took about 5minutes. I didn't even have to take off the oil filter, it just slid right in from the bottom. The pass side wasn't so bad either. Its all about getting the car high enough, and just unbolting the motor mount and jacking up the car. The headers got scratched to all hell going in, but nothing that's noticable when installed, so I'm happy. The car feels like a completely different car with long tubes. You'll love it.

Re: 93-97 jet hot headers?

The problem is particular to Jet Hot LTs so if you used the Hookers your experiences may vary.

Also, we had the car 24" off the ground from K member to the ground which is ridiculously high. Nothing about getting the right angle was my problem. The problem is that the K member is adjustable. If its adjusted (from the factory, however it got bolted up) slightly to the left, you're screwed on the drivers side. If its to the right, you're screwed on the pass. side. If its in the middle you're all good.

EDIT: Btw I also had this same issue on another LT1 like mine, and also on an LS1 when installing SLP LTs.

Re: 93-97 jet hot headers?

I did edelbrock tes witht the jet hot and it took me by myself about 12 hours total. But I also did my plugs and new wires and underdrive pulley at the same time. The edlebrock were some what a PITA but I got er done myself. It sorta sucked doing the y pipe and then trying to line up the pipe and cat so I could determine were it fit best and then try to tack it underneath the car and then pull it out, weld it, then put it back in but again I did it alone. I am building a 383 . Still deciding on the heads but will prolly do Llyod elliot heads. My cam is a 233/239 duration. The lift is .569 int./ .577 exh using 1.6 comp promag roller rockers. All I need is the comp type "R" lifters, a larger throttle body, torque converter and a dyno tune from Speed inc. These long tubes should help this thing bring. I am hoping for the 425+ mark at the wheels. I have been told it is more than possible and should be pretty easy.I got the cam kit from Combination Motorsports.

My JetHots were easy as crap to put in. They were easier then putting in my AS&M mids I had before them.
