93-94 Owners, vent your Opti!!

Here is a link that I found for all of you 93-94 owners without a vented opti. This is a way to vent it without having to go through the 95-97 conversion!!

I went 80K miles on my stock unvented opti. It didn't die on me, I just swapped it out for the hell of it.

I'm on a rebuilt one now. I'll take my chances.

Thanx for the link though. Good read.

I am also of the opinion that the nonvented opti is fine. People assume that since the vent design is newer it's better. I just had mine off for a cam swap and could have easily done the conversion. The double roller timing chain option was desireable, but i felt with less than 6500 rpms the stock one would be fine. My nonvented opti has been holding up great for this long.

The way it sounds is that the opti is fine until moisture is introduced. I think that just falls on the owner to make sure that the water pump doesn't start to leak.
