I believe the 93-94 opti's have a splined shaft that goes inside the cam. The 95-97 opti's have a flat plate that bolts flush against the cam. Also 95-97's have some fittings made on the drivers side bottom to attach hoses because they are vented opti's.

I have a spare opti and I dont remember what year it is for.I think mine is dying. I cannot get www.speeddensity.org to come up on my computer for some reason.

Off the subject, but how do you like the Advanced Induction heads? Did you send them your factory heads to be redone or did you buy a set already built from them? how much $$? Thanks. sorry Im so nosy.

I bought another set of heads to send off to him. I'm very happy with them, i plan to hit the dyno again this winter. Last time i was there i just waste a $150 to find out my stock fuel pump was junk and was holding me back. . AI has prices on there website. I got them almost 2 yrs ago. Phil at AI was very nice, because i talked to him during the fall about doing my heads and he quoted me a price, but i told him i wouldn't be able to buy them until winter. Once winter came around and had the money Phil still did the heads at the price he quoted me even though their prices increase several hundred dollars. Also when i had my low hp problem i posted it in the LT1 tech and AI contacted me and tried to help me solve the problem. They had people look at my problem and one of the best tuner's they know look at my situation and make suggestions. I needed some Comp R lifters ASAP and AI doesn't take credit cards, and they were nice enough to ship the lifters on the promise that i would send a money order to them at the same time. I love AI and if there is any way i can support them i will. They also take great pride in their work and they should.

The domain just automatically renewed which takes the site down for 48-72 hours. Reason it happened automatically was because the admin who takes care of that is on vacation. If he had been around to do it manually before the auto renew, there wouldn't have been a problem. It should be back up by now, but it's starting to look like the admin is going to have to manually re-enter the DNS info. Unfortunately, I don't have the IP to access the site.

As for the opti:

Thanks go out to Shoebox (as always) for the reference pics:
92-94 Opti

95-97 Opti

You can see the difference in the drive mechanisms between the two, that's the easiest way to tell what years version it was.
