93&94 door glass rattle fix
93&94 door glass rattle fix
Tired of the glass rattling when you shut the door with the window down? here is the fix.
What you'll need
#3 Phillips screwdriver
#2 Phillips screwdriver
Small flathead screwdriver
7mm socker or nut driver
3/8 drill bit
1/2 in drill bit
drill
Anything that will cut some fiberglass, i used a dremel and a drywall bit.
(I use a awl and hammer but you could get around this)
The bumbers themselves, P/N 10274366 one for each door
Step one
Remove door panel. you can get very good instructions on this on either shoebox or brents site, its under the power window motor fix.
Step two Remove the speaker and is bracket using a 7mm socket.
you gotta kind of play with it to get it out.
Put the window in the down position, see that little white piece of plastic on the glass, you are gonna install the bumper right below this, mark it. Put window back up. fit bumber to spot, If you have the bose speakers the amp will stop right at the webbing in the door, so you are going to mount the bumper right behind that webbing. Set it down and close the window and make sure the bumper is in the middle of the window. Raise window again. Unless you have one of those goofy right angle drills you have to poke a hole through at this spot with somthing else so you can drill from underneith. I used an awl and a hammer to tap it through. Now from underneith ising the 1/2 inch drill bit make your first hole. (be careful not to breath this stuff or get it in your eyes. Then measure 3/4 of an inch back ( toward the rear of the door) and drill the second hole using the 3/8 drill bit.
Now using your cutting tool of choice, cut out a slot from the 3/8 hole to hte 1/2 inch hole making it 3/8 of an inch wide the whole way. now slide the bumper in the 1/2 inch end of the slot and it will lock in at the 3/8 end. I chose to glue it there but Im not sure it was neccessaery, just make sure you use a waterproof glue, it can get wet in there. Close the window to make sure it rests on the bumper. And you are done, no more rattles, It took me about an hour to do both sides, although I would alot a little more time if you have never had the door panels off before, they can be a bit tricky.
Shoebox, Brent, whoever, feel free to use this walkthrough on your page, sorry, no pictures.

I guess you mean to add additional bumpers to the bottom of the door? That bumper part should already be there. I know lately, a few people have found them just laying in the bottom of the door.
