83 carbed lt1

Hey guys, haven't been on the forum for awhile, i finally have everything hooked up and the thing cranks and cranks and cranks, im getting fuel from my inline fuel pump, to the carb definately, i tried testing for spark, and i didnt see any spark what so ever :/ , i changed my ignition coil inside the distributor, still no spark, i tested the hot wire to the coil to make sure it had a full 12 v, it did. Do i need to replace my whole bottom part of the distrubutor maybe? oh yea i replaced the cap n rotor as well. spark plugs and wires as well. still no spark , and its just flooding the car cuz it wont blow up me gas ..

Well any help would be gladly appreciated

i am using a rear mount distributor now that i switched to carb, thanks.

are you running a hei? If you are, check the wires at the pickup coil in the distributor, they might be broke off.

Re: 83 carbed lt1

what about the ign. module? thats the thing with the wires in the bottom of the distr.. sure its good? if it goes out, no spark. there's a way to test it, I believe its resistance related, but cant remember what the resistance should be. is this a new distr. or a used/old one?

Re: 83 carbed lt1

what about the coil inside the distr.? its in the center of the distr. next to the module. maybe that is bad. I wouldnt mess with it myself. I'd just buy one of those pertronix dist.s if you dont have the money for an MSD or mallary dist.
