#8 spark plug, HELP!!!
#8 spark plug, HELP!!!
any tips on how to get the #8 plug out? I've changed all my other plugs. i took off my alternator and i tried to take the y pipe out, but the bolts are rusted. i even tried an impact wrench and the bolts won't break free. is there another way? thanks.
I dunno, maybe I'm a freak but I pull everything but #7 from the top. For the #8 plug I used a 1/4" rachet with an adapter and the plug socket. I can fish my hand between the manifold and A/C box and pull it out with ease.

I'm pretyt sure I did #8 from the top too, and while I'm not a bulky man, I do have plenty thick forearms. The trick I found most helpful for the passenger side, was to throw a blanket over the engine compartment and lay across the engine bay -feet towards the drivers side.
I no longer had to wish my elbows bent backwards.

spark plug changing get really easy when u have someone going from the top and another from the bottom, that way the person on the bottom can put on the socket and guide the ratchet onto it that the person on the top lowers dowl, makes it really simple
thanks for your help guys. i got it after taking out the starter and going at it from the bottom with a box end wrench. I also pulled most of mine from the top. the only ones i pulled from the bottom were 7 and 8. thanks for all the help.

if it is, i put the socket on there and used a 5/8's rench to rotate it. all the others the ratchet fits and rotates no problem.

Good tip on using the 5/8s wrench though -that must be similar to the thinking behind the sockets on eBay for changing our cars plugs.
#8 is the only one i didnt do i didnt wanna damage all those wires over there... but i got the ratchet on there just fine and i was twisting... just stopped and tightened it back up i didnt wanna mess any of that stuff up
