6psi at idle
6psi at idle
Guys,
I was driving the imp the other day and the car died at a light. I restarted it and when I got to the next light I happened to look down at the oil pressure gauge I had 6psi at idle (975 idle) . Above 2000 rpms I have 50psi but at idle or lower than 2000 rpms the pressure is extremely low. Any ideas? Spun bearing? I hope to hell not. Motor has less than 2000 miles on it.

I get around 10 psi or so at hot idle and 50 psi at WOT. Thats what my gauge says though, so it could be wrong. Check if the pickup fell off or hook up a mechanical or electrical gauge and see what that says.....does the car run rough or feel like its starving for oil? If not, then the oiling system is probably not the issue.
The car runs fine. I have an IAC issue at idle. I get alot of idle surge. But no knock or noises. The only thing is if I turn the car off and let it sit for 10-15 minutes it turns over slow like its really tight but does start. Bryan Herter is going to tune out the idle surge. And when I changed the oil there was a considerable amount of metal on the magnet of the drain plug.
