Arrow .596 lift cam on a .600 spring?....

I have a set of Combination Motorsports 612 springs that should be good up to .600 lift. Will I be really pushing them if I run them on an 847 cam with a .596 lift?
I won't rev the car past 6300...
The other components are 1.6 pro magnums, guideplates, comp 1 pc pushrods and comp r lifters.

Thanks.

You need to ask Seth at what lift those springs will bind at the installed height. It is unclear whether they will take a .600 lift cam...with room for comfort, or whether they will BIND at .600 lift. If it's the latter...you need to look for another spring.

I run the CC 914 with a .640 lift cam. It's a great valve spring for running loads of pressure.

i THINK you can play with the install height a little but if not then youd definitely be teetering on the edge of disaster running it that close to coil bind.

Are these the same springs that they used to make "375 RWHP" out of their/your old cam?

Anyway... I checked out atljar's specs and he's running the k-800 springs. Checked the specs on those and they are also rated to .600. Hmm.... I guess I'll just have to give Combination a call tomorrow.
Thanks a lot guys!

367 to be correct and yes why do you ask i am just trying to help you out so you don't have to rebuild your entire engine anytime soon didn't you just put it in their Also be sure to check your piston to valve clearence size of the spring is only half the problem with that big of a cam...... good luck

I was just kidding and you know it.
I asked about your springs because I thought that yours were also rated to .600 for some reason. I guess I was wrong.
Maybe I should just go with a smaller cam and then I won't have all these problems. We'll see what Combination tells me tomorrow. I'll let you know.

PS. Did you get your cam yet?

No cam yet and i want to see you use this cam just giving some of the info i learned from other people when i put the 847 in and everything seemed to work great had a few 7000 revs and no damage. I would go with bigger springs though and check p/v clearence because the rep. at comp cams said that cars with heads that have been milled had no problems but maybe a stock head car would and back and forth so you just have to see don't go off what anybody else has ......

Jegs has an error in its catalouge about the k motion springs, which is where i assume you grabbed your info. Summit has it down correctly, k-800s are good to .700 lift.

IMO, .600 is WAY too close with .595 lift. You could always throw some 1.5 rockers on the exhaust side only if you are dead set on running those springs. Other options are to see if you can grab a set of shorter retainers that may give some more installed height.

My set up is the k motion springs, .050 shorter TI retainers, shimmed .060 up. Took it to ~6900 on the dyno and the valves never floated.

Thanks guys.
I decided against the 847 as much as I wanted to use it. Sorry Chris.

I just bought a 233/239, .569"/.577", 112lsa.

Hopefully I'll be able to squeeze 350 out of it. We shall see.

ive got the combo single coil springs , and the GM847 cam on the way with 1.6rr's...........seth assured us it would be fine with that much lift.

the springs dont bind at 600, actually someone said they have a car running 604 lift on the same springs with no probs.

im having it all installed next month, so i guess ill find out!
