58 or 52 tb

wondering, if a 58 tb would be good for my car. would it work with out a ported intake. or would it be messed up, ,i know its not that noticeable, with out head work. but does it help throttle response, or smoothness at all?

93z- 4.10s, cai, 1.6rr, bbk shorties, pulleys, thermo stat, chip, lcas, sfcs, alum shaft, short shifter, ,new clutch, full exhaust, motor/trans mounts.

Most people with strog heads/cam combos still run on the stock TB. Certainly not worth the $350 or so they charge, as some people will argue it costs HP, not gains you it. When you get a 383 or 396, thats when you need a bigger TB, Till then, don't worry about it

i picked up 8 rwhp and 12 rwtq (about 6 avg HP and 9 avg tq through the revs) swapping from a BBK 52mm to an arizona speed and marine 58mm. that, from my last engine, a 355.

On the original motor with just about every bolt-on, I noticed a significant increase in throttle response when I installed my BBK 58 mm. However, like it was stated already; it's not worth $350 if you could buy headers or roller rockers instead. I paid $150 for mine, only reason I snatched it up.

Not worth it unless you're approaching the 400rwhp barrier...then maybe...

I'd do BBK before Holley....Holley has been known to have some problems with sticking blades.....

well you dont really need it, but if your gonna mod in the future and can find one cheap, go with a bbk 58mm. you will however definatly need to port your intake to match the tb.

here you go:

You'll always be able to find those fairly cheap if you look...I'd wait till you honestly need it otherwise its a waste of 200 or 250 bucks if you never use it or never see more than a 2rwhp gain out of it.
