52mm bbbk tb

I purchased a BBK 52mm TB for my 95 Z28 A4 and have some ?s

1) Do I need to have any thing reprogrammed on the OBD1

2) What performance gains should I see. Currently has k&n fipk, 1le elbow, and a slp ati sensor.

3) what will this do to my MPG's

Thanks for any help given, John A

1. No you dont have to do anything with programming.

2. You will see basically no performance gain, more than likely under 5hp or around there.

3. Your MPG will remain unchanged from your regular driving habits.

The reason why you will not see much gain if any is because the stock 48mm TB is more than adequate for rwhp in the mid 300's. When I got my 52mm TB from Nomad installed (excellent by the way), I didnt notice any gain really and didnt expect to as it is just preparation for much bigger additions coming in the near future. Once you get into heads and cam, the bigger TB will be much more beneficial. It doesnt look like you have headers or a catback listed in your sig. I suggest those highly before a TB but there's no harm into installing it now and you have only power to gain after that. No sense getting more air in when you cant get it out efficiently right?

Thanks for that info, about what I expected to hear I was hoping it was the equivilent of a 100 shot
Full exhaust is next, then heads/cam after that.

I'm highly doubting BBK's TB's...at least the 52mm. I had one and didn't really notice much. Maybe a little better response and maybe some up top(which also could have just been in my head). I didn't have problems, but also didn't notice anything. My friend put the same TB on his car and he had a couple of problems with it. I think the blades were sticking or it felt like his car was surging or something. So I dunno...some people put them on their car w/ no problem at all and others have had complaints.

But to the original question, no, you won't really feel much of a difference on a mostly stock engine.
