4L60E are all years interchangable????

4L60E are all years interchangable????

Will a 97 4L60E work without any problems in a 94?????

No. They changed the TCC strategy in '97 to a Pulse Width Modulated (PWM). The computers control lockup differently.

Actually, I think they did that in 1995.

No. The only years that are interchangeable in the the LT1 cars are 96-97. I learned the hard way when my tranny died a few years ago. I tried to replaced it rather than rebuild it. I bought one from a 95-wouldn't shift, needed OBD1 programming and PCM. Bought a 94-bellhousing was slightly different, wouldn't fit. Got a 95 truck 4L60E-not even close, bellhousing totally different. Finally just called Highes Performance, and bought a rebuild kit that was used in my buddy's 500hp 97 WS6. Had it rebuilt, and it's still going strong.
