4L60/700R4 Operating Temps?

I just installed a temp. guage and I was wondering what temp. is normal?

The car in question is the 93 Z28 in the sig.
Notice this question is for the non-E 4L60 if there is a normal temp. difference between the two.....

Thanks in advance for all help.

You should'nt be above 230-240. Thats on a hot day pushing the tranny hard. I've seen these trannies go over 300 while towing. Not good. These trannies will not take alot of heat. I watch a 4L60 start to slip at about 234 at my work. Does'nt mean all will burn up at that temp though. Tranny will live longer when kept cool!

Cool

I have noticed that on the highway, etc....I usually set around 150~160*, and in bumper to bumper traffic It gets arouns 180* so I assume I'm okay.
Thanks For the info.
