4000 RPM Redline ?????
4000 RPM Redline ?????
i have a 93 paxton supercharged z28 and recently put in a shift kit, headers and throttle body.......after the shift kit and headers were put in the car was pretty nasty.....coupel weeks later the TB was put in.....recently i've noticed that when im on the highway doing 50 or faster, or if im at a dead stop and just hold the gas down and accellerate....my car seems as though it hits a rev limit at about 4000 RPM.....so if i want to mess with someone on teh highway, i cant b/c i cant hit my 5100RPM limit like a normal Z......i'm wondering if it has something to do with my throttle body cables not being adjusted correctly....personally i feel it has something to do with my TB cables....at first i thought i had a really bad air fuel ratio after the TB was put in (since i am still under stock fuel pressure)...so i thought at high RPM i was just running lean and teh car would act up b/c of that......so what i did was i put the stock 48mm TB back in but i have the same symptoms.....
ANY INPUT FROM ANYONE WOULD BE HELPFUL

Re: 4000 RPM Redline ?????
sounds like my ignition coil? i will check the wiring - i had my MSD ignition box inside my car and i just relocated it to under teh hood - i wonder if i connect an ignition wire wrong - i could also put my stock ignition coil back on and see what happens then........
and the 93's are single pipe back with single cat (im sure you know) so i have headers to y pipe....to hollow cat.....to a dump tube......and flowmaster muffler when the dump is closed
thanks for responding though guys - i appreciate your time
