4" Mufflex w/ Spintech too big?

I was wondering if the Mufflex 4" catback w/ a Spintech single out would be too big for my car. I'm going to be doing LT's a little later. I have broken 2 different mounts on my 2OTL SLP exhaust on 2 different occasions. I am tired of getting it tig welded back together. I'm building another motor, I just didn't want to bawg this one down with too big of exhaust. Let me know guys.

Thanks

So I guess what you are saying is that I'm ok to run the bigger pipes? It just doesn't make sense to put 2 different exhausts on my car. 1 before the good motor and 1 after. I guess I want to know how bad my junk will run with the 4" on it.

get the mufflex

Are you asking if it is to big so it wont fit? or it wont have back pressure?

I have the mufflex 4 inch with spyntich and dual oval tips. It does rub sometimes on the axel due to a crappy install but im getting that fixed soon. Dont worry about losing low end, mine is a low end beast. Also on the mufflex website they have a dyno chart that proves you gain pleanty of hp and torqu with the 4 inch throughtout the power curve. I got the mufflex when my car was stock and now i have heads and cam. Both way it work great. And the sound is insane. I would get the dual oval tips, looks much better than the turndown in my opinion. -later

And while your sitting there basking in the sound of your car....those with combo's that are matched and are smaller will be pulling away....

And do you think they would have a dyno graph showing a loss?

Call up Denny and tell him what you have. He will not recommend a 4" setup with a basically stock car.

I believe LJ is running 9.9's with a 4" Mufflex....

umm i traped at 104.5 mph with only an K&N and the mufflex, the rest of the car was stock - it must be killing my performance

besides if he is going to make more power in the future (heads and cam, n20 ect) the muffelx will only help.

Thanks Mike,

Yes I am building another motor. I'm either going w/ a 12#+ blower or a N20 solid roller mill. It's not going to be for a little while though cause I tend to make sure everything is right and that's gonna take a little abuse. I just didn't want to absolutely kill my bottom end that's all. I'm going to be doing a custom 4.5" oval tailpipe, that's why I'm going to go with the single out. Spintech has some cool oval piping.

I'm not a fan of leaving horsepower on the table, so I wouldn't hestitate to grab the Mufflex if I were you. The 4" Mufflex is next on my to do list.
