4.10's on stock rear end

If I get 4.10s for my 96 Z, and put on some drag slicks will it break my rear end or what is a good rpm to launch at not to break it?Also how much does a 12 bolt rear end cost, thanks.

I've got 4.10 and an Eaton Posi, but I only run with street tires. I've heard bad stories when you hook up on a 10-bolt with 4.10s using slicks. I wouldn't recommend it.

your looking to spend anywhere from $1500 to $3000 for a good rear end. I am running 4.10's in my 10 bolt now and just had new 17x11 with nitto drag radials installed. No problems so far but I think you might wanna stay away from slicks.

I love my 4.10s, but I'm scared to run anything other than street tires. You could probably get away with radials if you are a little nice off the line.
One word on the gears with the M6, I'm crossing the line at 107 but would really need to change gears before about 100 or so. I choose to over-rev a little rather than change up just befor the line. Just letting you know. Drag racing isn't my end-all decision on building up my car so I don't care. I wouldn't trade the seat of the pants feel of 4.10s for anything.
