Re: 4.10 Mpg

im wondering the same thing. withthe mods in my sig and 3.73's, im seeing 23-25 mpg with mixed driving. i wouldnt mind a set of 4.11's. i also wouldnt imagine theyd kill mileage that badly...

Re: 4.10 Mpg

When my '97 was stock with 4.10s, I got 450 miles to a tank on a road trip to Oregon. Keep in mind, this was ALL highway with the cruise on, on a relatively flat freeway.

However, around town, I got got 17-18 and 22-23 with mixed driving.

Re: 4.10 Mpg

See I'm getting 170 to the tank less if I stay off the interstates. I'm not sure what could be causing this This motor cant be eating this much gas and it only has a faint fuel smell and not all the time.

Re: 4.10 Mpg

When I changed from the 2.73 to a 3.73 I did not see any less mpg. I never saw mileage like some others are claiming but you should see no less than 220-230 miles per tank and slightly more if its all highway. The T56 should do a little better than my A4 did.

Re: 4.10 Mpg

well the lower gear ratio you go with, the higher RPM's you'll be turning at a particular speed; meaning for highway driving, you'll be losing some slight gas mileage. im turning 2000 RPM's at 75 mph and 2500 RPM's at 90 with 3.73:1's

Re: 4.10 Mpg

I have gotten 24+ mpg from my 94 Z28 with 4.10s and T56 on a 200 mile trip and driving 75-80 mph. Engine has about 10k on it since rebuild with hotcam and basically every bolt on that can be found. I have not checked it since I went to Hooker longtubes and Mufflex system though........not sure if they really affected it or not....I know around town they have cause gotta love the sound of that setup on acceleration

Re: 4.10 Mpg

My 2 cars are complete opposites.. The red hardtop car (just a cammed and long tubed LT1) gets between 18-20 in town.

While the Green vert (forged 383 stroker) gets 10 in the city. Though the vert isn't running quite right, I just havent had time to fix it yet. It just sits for now anyway.. The vert has 4.11s..

Both cars are M6s

Re: 4.10 Mpg

I changed my plugs an wires as I did my headers. I went from 21 mpg mixed to 26 mpg mixed. And the 26 was with me hammering on it nonstop; had to play with my new toys. I've heard the headers help the mpg alot.

Re: 4.10 Mpg

With stock gears and mods in sig. I get about 25 or so on the highway and 10 in town. Usually 230 miles to a tank mixed driving. My city MPG kills me because of my driving style, but it's well worth it! My brothers 468 powered 3.73 geared Chevelle gets about 6 MPG no matter what. to technology.(I still smoke his ***).
