well i ordered my 4.10s and there supposed to be here friday, but i also picked up a 125 shot of nitrous and ive been told that one good hook up will toast the gears. i have the AAM diff. cover and the zexel thorson diff. sould i have any concerns?? i know that 4.10s arent as strong as my stock 3.42s but i dont want to be replacing gears every week!! thanks!

 

Are you going to be running a slick??? I know a buddy of mine had a 3.73 in his LS1 and spraying 150 shot. He had over 100 passes before a rearend rebuild. He was also running an auto. Manuals are alot more harsh on the rearend.

4.10's + spray equal no traction at all...Heak, Im NA and have no traction at all..Your gonna either have to a)get stickier tires which means a shattered 10bolt b)get a 12bolt and dont worry about it again

hey 97Z what do you run in the 1/4 we sound pretty identical

 

woudl 4.10's be a good gear choice for an auto car that will only have bolt ons to increase power?

I would go with 3.73's with an Auto...

12 bolt will cost between 2000-2500 depending on the options you get and if its a Moser/Strange..

i heard 4.10 reduce the overall life of your engine due to higher constant revs. What do you guys thinkg about that?

 

Also if you are looking for a 12 bolt you should look at DTS as an option since they are local.
