396 oil pan?

does the lt1 396 require an after market oil pan or will the stock one work? what about an after market oil pump (melling high volume)? thanks

With a 396 you might need an aftermarket pan...the stocker will work with a 383 but requires a little banging....mellings are good replacements but it seems that just the GM stocker with the "white spring" is working just fine for some people.
