I think he is saying his new setup will make that to the wheels on motor, without nitrous. i dont know what kind of computer he is running but i doubt he will hit that with the stock lt1 computer, the auto, and the 12 bolt but who knows.

mean94ta, what kind of intake are you running?

The 505RWHP was with a stock TUNED computer, and 18% taken off the 617FWHP for the driveline.
Have gone to 556RWHP with stock computer tuned by the right person. Not going to get into a debate as to who that person is either.

The 380RWHP or so he originally posted is very low for the equipment that's there. It definately has problems somewhere.

Yea if ya got good brgs and a Moser case. Damn skippy. It will have to be geared 1-1 and the tires ain't gonna hook anyway. It only turns 102RPM's and makes 5 million ft lb's of torque.

I think they need a cam change or NO2 not enough RPM's for my taste but sure like the torque.

I would post the dyno graph if I could but I can't post attachments and I don't have anywhere to hang it.
As for driveabilty, I really can't complain. It drives pretty well...
my buddies 396 made 435rwhp with those heads under his 396 back in 1998. is the cc306 a small base circle cam? i didnt think it was. i didnt think that would clear the rods with that much stroke?

Re: 396 Dyno #'s...Opinions Please

Ok, well, I'm working on starting a 396 build myself... but after reading this thread I'm a little Concerned...

I'm planning on a VRE 396 Race Shortblock topped off with a set of AI 210 CNC TFR heads and matched cam, as well as the matched LT1 intake also done my AI. Any ideas on RWHP numbers??? I was really hoping for the 500RWHP mark, or atleast close to it.... this is on a M6/Strange 12-Bolt car...
