396, cc306, GTP Stage 2, 434 rwhp!!

Well I strapped it down to the dyno at NEDYNO and brought it to 6200 for the first time, it made 434 rwhp and 407 tq not bad for a N/A LT1/LT4. I will be adding a shot of NOS in the spring time.

396 Storker w/ M6
GTP Stage 2 LT4 heads and intake
CC306
Jet hot Long tube
Mufflex y-pipe
Stock 2 OTL Exhaust

F.A.S.T engine management

Nice numbers Altho they seem a bit low for a 396/LT4 combo. Look into a custom grind cam for your heads, I bet you could get around 450-460rwhp with a different cam.

I think this combo is just fine for me, Its a streetcar that I might take to the track 3 times a year. I want to be able to drive everyday and have it drive like it was stock. Which it drives real good right now. I didn't want to get real aggressive.

Yea good point. How is the 396 on gas in the city? Is it a pig or not bad? Any regrets stroking it that big wishing you would have done a 383 or 355? I plan on having a similar setup on mine eventually.

I just wanted to correct you. You are not going to "shoot NOS into your engine". You might spray nitrous into it though.

I can't honestly say what it is in the city cause I have been really enjoying the new power so once my hormones calm down I'll answer what city gas mileage is like.
Hiway mileage is real good cause i have been taking it on the high way to break the engine in and get some mileage on it.
I got 20 mpg on a recent trip not going over 75 mph.

Reason I did a 396 was because of nostalgic reasons the first gens SS came with 396 big blocks so I wanted a 396.

Correct I will be spraying, but in Nitrous terms most people want to know how big of a shot your running not how big of a spray.
