383 vs. 396

Hello, I hope you can help me. I found a 396 stroker kit for a great price. I was wondering how hard it would be to put a 396 stroker kit instead of my planned 383. How much more do the block need to be clearanced. Will the parts I planned on buying for the 383 work for the 396, such as the cam. Will I need a diffrent base circle cam for instance. Thanks for all the help.

the bottem end assembaly for a 396 isnt much more then a 383. thing is though u need to have heads and cam that will make use of all the extra airflow to take advantage of the extra displacement. To answer ya i would say yes, the cam for a 383 would work for a 396, just not as well with possible power in mind.
