Hey guys, what kind of mileage are you guys getting for gas mileage with a simple lt-1 350 with bolt ons, compared to the 383 with mild cam.

I wouldn't know firsthand, but most of the time, with good tuning, a 383 will not have much worse gas milege then a bolt-on LT1.

I added a 383 and a much big cam (xe 230/236), 2400 stall, poor tuning and a HUGE exhuast leak. CAr was running pig rich. lost 4 mpg or so with an auto 3.73. without an exhuast leak id venture to say 20mpg +

I get about 21-25 on the highway and 13-15 around town. My stuff is pretty agressive though.

BTW, its a 6 speed.

I am getting around 12-15mpg around town. That is with aggressive driving in the city.

I am not sure about highway because all my driving is city only.

My gas mileage on the throughw is 22 mpg. This is with a decent tune. With a real good tune in the lower RPM's I could maybe see 24-25 mpg. But you gotta keep your foot out of it too.
