383 stroker kit

Hello

I have 97 z and i want to build the engine and need some help. I was thinking about putting a 383 stroker kit, porting and polishing the stock heads, putting the lt4 gm performance hot cam kit, and headers. What do you guys think about what i am planing??? also where is the best place for prices and quality???

Thanks
Shane

go bigger than a hot cam

gm 847 or cc306 are really popular

so are the XE custom grinds

as for the kits other will chime in with those im interested to because i havent bought my kit yet

hotcam

dont listen to the hotcam is to small bs!!!!

hotcam is great and leaves you with tons of low end torque!

look in my sig of what my hotcam makes on the roller!

the hot cam is a good cam, but if hes going 383 there are much better cams he could try. I for one would 2nd the 306 over the hotcam.

i would ditch your heads too. look into the lt4 heads and do work to them.

if you are looking at buying a kit, or a whole motor, check out nu-tek, they do some good stuff.

That's what TPiS recommended to swap my ZZ9 cam to for a 383 stroker build.

the 306 is a pretty good cam for what it sounds like he wants to do.

How is LT4 conversion on top of a 383 stroker. How much HP does it equal?.

Summit Racing claims a proven 425+HP (Flywheel) with the LT4 conversion kit including LT4 Hot Cam.!!

Hey bud....look at my mods below. What's funny is that I had the exact same idea in mind when I built mine. I am totally happy with it and the cam. I actually think its a bit much some times. But remember this dude. It's like a snowball. You do the motor and everything else has to go with it. Injectors....computer....TB.....tranny build up...converter.... The list is endless. I went about 3k over budget. But ask me if I regret it.
