383 problems......
383 problems......
I just got my LE383 running, and it won't start up unless I step on the gas pedal, and it won't idle unless I hold the gas in for a little while and let it warm up for a little bit, then it will idle. But after it gets hot, it will slowly idle lower until it eventually dies. I scanned it and the only code I get is a 33, map senser voltage too high. Would this cause my problem, or is it in the tune? Also what causes the map senser volts to be too high? Bad map senser? Also what is a good voltage for the TPS to be at idle, its at .75 right now? And can I turn the screw on the throttle body to raise the idle? Thank you for any help given.
Re: 383 problems......
I would pull the map off and take it to your local autozone, they can actually test it under vaccuum and tell you if it is functioning properly. As for your TPS voltage, you are fine.
The stalling problem could be a fuel issue, IAC issue or a MAP issue. Start with the MAP, if that dosnt solve your problem, pull the IAC motor out and CAREFULLY clean the plunger of any gunk. If that dosnt solve your problem, you may need to take it to a shop that is competent with an oscilliscope.
Good Luck!

Re: 383 problems......
I already cleaned the IAC valve out really good before I put it on the new throttle body. I'll have to take the map up to Auto Zone tomarrow and have it tested. Would low vacum or a vacum leak cause the voltage to be too high?
Re: 383 problems......
Your TPS voltage is high and will cause it to run rich at idle.

Re: 383 problems......
Thanks for the link, it is very helpful. The idle is very rich right now, bad enough that it makes my eyes tear. Not having a cat doesn't help much with that either.
