383 LT1 build progress

finally got my LT1 motor home on friday after several months of building it up slowly at the machine shop. spent a few hours on friday night and today going over things and bolting stuff up. not much to tell but the specs and plans, its going into my 95 camaro backed by a 4000 stall 4L60E, eventually id like to run a small shot of nitrous on it but it doesn't really need it, its just gonna be a wicked pump gas street car. i was going to engine dyno it to break it in etc. but we could not locate a carb manifold that would bolt up so ill have to wait for a chassis dyno session in the future. the motor will be 500+hp and 500+tq though, guys that run this combo put around 450 RWHP n/a should be a fun street car thats for sure.

That's literally the exact same setup I'm running. Literally. It's just waiting to go in the car, just like yours.

Did AI give you the head flow numbers, port and chamber CCs? If so, do your mind sharing?

450 is quite possible with that combo.
I'm running something similar. Also on pump gas.

chambers were cc'd to my specific combo at 56cc the intakes are 200cc with 2.00/1.56 manley valves, peak headflow is about 290cfm on the intake, 200cfm on the exh with no pipe extension whatsoever.

Hook up the engine bay with a good cleaning to go along with your spotless engine. That thing will be a beast when its running. We are running close to the same parts besides I went with the 355 for some reason.

Thanks for that. Since you posted such good, detailed information on your engine, I was going to plug the data into my Engine Analyzer Pro Version 2.1, simulation program.

Then let the program crunch the numbers and see how closely they'll match to what you get from your dyno runs. That will give me a pretty good idea of how accurate and reliable my program is.

If you don't have the rest of the head flow numbers, like from .100 to, say, .700, I can just use AFR 195 numbers to fill in the blanks. That won't be the 100% accurate way to do it, but the results should be really close.

As you probably already know, EAP is touted as being very sophicated giving very accurate results. I'll see just how true that is; for $500 it had better bet, LOL.

Thanks again,

Jake

Very nice setup! just dropped in my 383, 195cc LE heads, similar flow put down #'s in sig. in a m6. your build looks very promising! we'll see though, a4 and that stall are pretty power heavy. also, what oil pan is that? and are those valve covers clearanced for the lt1 alt?
hope your not running the stock 10 bolt!

the oil pan is stock LT1 with some clearance for the longer stroke. the valve covers are stock i will be using a custom alt relocation bracket from speed inc.
