383 Le2 Seems Down On Power
383 Le2 Seems Down On Power
*ok lets see where do i begin with this thing even though i may get bashed for this but oh well,i mean dont get me wrong from 3500 to 6800rpm the car pulls like hell but whenever it gets down to 1000 to 3000 it just falls flat on its face the car just doesnt seem that different from stock exept from
70mph and up.
*Problem number two idle issue.... car at idle sucks.. i know it has nothing to do with the cam or motor. its either some kinda sensor or somethin. at a stand still when im even slightly about to accelerate the stumbles there no throttle response and you can hear backfire comming from the intake..i cant even take off full throttle from a dead stop its like i have to ease into it
*and last problem i dont know if this is normal or not but when i pull my dip stick to check the oil from the tube itself this white smoke comes out very faint though same thing when i remove the cap the engine is new is this normal??? i appolagize for the long story but i appricate the people out there taking the time to read it im really just angry outta all the cash i dumped into this only to be disappointed....and i know my rear end is stock but would that really make that much difference???
Thanks

Re: 383 Le2 Seems Down On Power
thanks for the reply when we scanned it for codes it came back with MAP and ICM could that effect it in any way also shouldnt the valve adjustment been already done by Golen?

Yes, the ICM and the map can affect performance. As far as valve adjustment goes, even if Golen did set the valves I would go over them again with the motor running unless they did this already.

I'm tellin' ya.. 1000-3000 rpm is not where it's at anymore with your setup...
3600 stall and at least some 3.73's and you won't even be in that part of the powerband anymore...

Re: 383 Le2 Seems Down On Power
what should i use to do this and is there such a thing as over tightening them? also can the clack be from the lifters this is my first time with RR...damn it im such a noob at this
Re: 383 Le2 Seems Down On Power
ill take your word on it javier im buying me a strange rear then the stall can wait till i have enough to save for my tranny oh yea whats that white fainted smoke im seeing comming outta the oil cap and dip stick tube
Re: 383 Le2 Seems Down On Power
Yes, you will hear additional noise from the roller rockers... if you've never heard them before they are a bit louder than stock.. but the noise shouldn't be excessive. I'd let someone go through your valve lash process again. Not sure what lifters you have, if they are OEM style go with 1/8-1/4 turn after zero lash.
Not sure on the white smoke coming out of the dipstick tube and oil cap.. is the engine hot when you are doing this?
And yes, the MAP and ICM are definitely issues you need to look into. The MAP could be overtightened... doubt it's that though.. it's probably reading something it doesn't like....
You have to remember you've made a big jump from I believe a bolt on car? to what you have now.. it's two totally different animals with two totally different powerbands.

I see you have forged pistons, what kind of gaps are being run on them?
I have a tiny bit of blowby and I get a little bit of white smoke if I open something up while its warm.
