383 LE2 Dyno#s and bad track times.lol VIDS also

Well I went to the track last weekend in my 87 Iroc with a 383 LT1 swap.

383LT1
Forged Eagle crank
Forged Eagle H-Beams
JE -28CC pistons (WAS A BOOSTED MOTOR)
LE2 heads
1 3/4 Hooker 2210 headers
Custom ground Camp
PAC 1518 springs
1.6rrs
58mm TB
COMP 9.8:1
etc

4l60e
3000 Midwest Stall

Moser 12 Bolt
3.73 posi.

MY best run was a 12.3@113mph (wheel hop like mad and traction issues)
Also first time to the track too. I could only stall the car to about 1400RPM before it would roll (third gen brakes SUCK...Ls1 swaps are comming)

We got her on the dyno last nigth and found a few extra HP not much just leaned the car out a tad since it was 12.0:1.

We got 410RWHP and 395RWTQ (moser at some up)

Here are the printouts.

I should be hitting a 11.80-11.90 all day once I get the car to launch.

Car that were with us at the track were the skyline and mark 8

Enjoy

Nice ride!

Good power too! Should run real good when you get everything figured out.

Why are you running a -28cc piston?. Isnt that lowering your static compression?.

So I dare ask what your compression is at?. Did you have your heads milled at all to rais your compression back a little?.

I had -18 cc s in my last motor and it was around 9.8 with those pistons.

The compression is 9.79ish:1. My buddy had the motor built and had plans on changing the pistons but they were already in so he left them.
Its good for me bc i plan on going SC or turbo next year

untill I saw the -28 pistons I thoguht for sure you had a problem! a 383 should be trapping more that 112. boosting it is the best way!! ive got under 1500 in my turbo build(includes turbo,wg,bov,ic,piping, silicone, filter, oil lines, cooler) im just waiting on some pistons and ill have the short block ready to go it!

It soo easy to build the setup yourself in our cars. plenty of room and tons of turbo mounting options. good luck on the build! I would start searching all the ussual places and pick up the parts slowly, its much cheaper that way.

I starting picking out the parts and getting peices but then had to spend 1000 in exhaust after i got this motor. I had a 355 in it before, so i started to buy parts for it. But after buying the 383 and misc parts here and there i have about 4 grand into it in the last month.

It is comming off the road early this year (september bc thats when my insurance renews) At this point im going to do body and paint then play with either turbo or superchargers

Yes I dont run anything but mickeys after having a set!!! Awesome tires. My stock tires blew out the day i put the motor in (dry rot on the sides) So i had to throw the T/A wheels on. The spaceing on the 4th gen is wider so i needed 4th gen wheels just incase i rub the fenders at the track.

I like the ET streets better but that's just my opinion.

Pretty good HP #'s and track times considering the LOW compression. 2-2.5 points of compression would REALLy help things out but I would be happy with the results so far.
