383 kit
Re: 383 kit
im running a all forged 383 lightweight lunati bottom end, with a set of afr's, lt4 intake, all the bells and whistles, but thank God I got it all at a fraction of the price
But starting from scratch I'd say at least 7k

Re: 383 kit
I just spent about 8-9k on my 383 setup.
I purchased LT1 Trickflow heads which are being ported
LT4 intake which is being ported to 58mm throttle body, and port matched.
Forged crank, pistons, rods.
Comp Cams rockers, pushrods, lifters, springs, titanium retainers, locks, locators.
Comp Cam 233/239, .569/.577 111 LSA cam
42# fuel injectors
Racetronix fuel pump and harness
58mm B&K power plus throttle body
gaskets, timing kit, electric water pump, motor mounts, guide plates, msd ignition, optispark, spark plug wires, spark plugs
probably a few other things i didn't mention.
But I should be getting the car back on wednesday, can't wait.
I was looking around 6k to get it done, but hell no, cost me another 3k more than i thought it would.
I wanted to do it right though, so i guess saving up your money is the best thing to do.

Re: 383 kit
How about the blower? Add another 4-5 grand on top of that just for parts.
For a 383 shortblock, the prices are coming down a lot compared to 5-10 years ago. You can get a bullit proof shortblock for around 3 grand with overseas parts, or 4 grand with american parts. The heads another $1500-2 grand. That's around 6 grand for the long block. Add in fuel system, exhaust, ignition, supercharger and it starts getting expensive.
And then you have the drivetrain to worry about after that.
