383 guys step in for a moment

hey guys i was just wondering what kind of 0-60 times or 60-120 times your 383 lt1's are producing. Im stoked to get mine down to the track and i want to know ahead of time what i can expect. I know everyone has different components in their build which should be shown in a signature, but im still curious to know how everyones car performs N/A or on power adders. Please don't go down the highway just to answer this question btw. Be safe and have fun!

97 T/A, 383 with LE2 heads/cam, stock 82K trans, Yank 3200 stall, 3.42 gears, 275/40/17 M/T drag radials, stock TQ arm, stock shocks, stock control arms, disconnected front sway bar . . . .

1.61-1.63 60 fts. (11.55 @117 MPH) 3820 lb race weight

installed "built" 4L60 trans, 15x10, 15x3.5 Welds with 27x11.5x15 Hoosir QTP's 8.8 Ford rear end with 3.55 gears and more computer tuning.

1.59-1.60 60 fts (7.13 @96 MPH 11.21 @119 MPH 1/4). 3760 lb race weight

installed aftermarket control arms and adjustable Tq arm (not adjusted, just slapped on out of the box) on car and only took it out 1 time . . . . car spun tires 1-2 revolutions and then hooked.

1.65-1.68 60 fts - 7.20 @96 MPH 88 degree weather

Crummy track prep (more like NO track Prep, lol) Got 3 passes before rain and car has not been back to track since. Tq Arm adjustment and/or better track prep should put the car back in 1.55 range or possibly better.

I would like to have an LS1 air lid to get rid of the stock elbow and restrictive CAI set up. Should be 10-15 HP right there.

yea, that is alot of weight and it is also set up for nitrous with 3.55 gears and 27" tires. For a good N/A pass, some 4.11 gears and a better 60 (1.50-1.55) ft "should" put the car in 11.0x- 10.9x range by itself.

Knocking off 100 lbs (remove floor mats, back seats, empty console, remove ABS, etc) would possibly be needed to make sure it runs a 10.9x. When going this fast, it is just hard to pick iup a tenth.
