383, Eagle crank... do I put key slot in hub?
My 383 is together. I have a forged, Eagle LT1 crank. I was about to put the crankshaft hub on and realized... The crank has a key slot and a key... the stock crankshaft hub doesn't have a key slot. What do I do???
Should I take the key out of the crank and press the hub on? The stock hub is just pressed onto the crank shaft... there is no key. So, I can't decide if that will be a problem to do with this one.
Should I take the hub to a machine shop and have a key slot put in?... if so, is there any certain position that the slot has to be?
Please help asap. I'm confused and ready to get this sob finished.
Thanks

Use the key for the crank sproket only, it's recommended to machie the hub for a key for supercharged applications other then that do as mentioned, remove the key and fix the hub.
