383 dyno results

It's the first pic on the car domain page... couldn't get it up on the post

http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2222959

Some of you may remember my previous posts about the heads I bought. They are ported stock castings and are not all that impressive. They seem to be the main restriction of power here. Although the numbers aren't really all that bad considering I've seen some posts in the past regarding lower numbers with supposedly better setups. I plan on redoing most of the top end down the road with some quality work from AI, which should put me well over the 400 mark on both hp and tq. Until then, I just have to deal with what I've got, which ain't that bad.

Thanks man. I'm looking forward to it. Never been to a track before so it'll be a new experience for me. I'm a little worried about running it through the stock rearend, especially with any sort of drag slick. I can't afford to break the stock rear right now, but I'm upgrading to either a 12 bolt or 9" w/3.73's as my next step for now. The motor is also built for nitrous, so I'll will be running probably a 200 shot down the road as well. I'll see what I can do N/A first though.

So what all is done to it? Surely your not making 380whp with cam only? If so thats awesom, very similer to my cam specs. Of course you did say you had some head work. Forgot about that.

Full bolt ons, 38# delphi injectors, 255 fuel pump, AFR, 58mm TB, port matched intake and heads (keep in mind I bought the intake and heads together and both are not exactly high quality jobs... I won't get into details but I bought them used from someone on the boards... my mistake), built tranny with 3200 stall, basically every single part attached to the block is brand new. Block itself was cleaned up and beefed to 4 bolt mains, 383... the whole deal. I'm very happy so far with the whole setup. It's very streetable and sounds unbelievable, turns a LOT of heads at any RPM. It's a full weight street car, the AC blows ice cold, and I've got a 2000+ watt stereo that I barely listen to unless others are in the car with me lol

I'm excited to get to the track and a little nervous as well in fear of breaking something which I don't exactly have the cash to fix right now... I'll get there in time though.

That's a very interesting dyno graph, did that get tuned?
I bet you'll find quite a bit more power once the area between 4300 and 5100 are cleaned up a bit.
Who ported those heads and intake for you? (or for the person you bought them from)

I was told the odd torque curve was due to something with the converter I have. I forget exactly what he said, but maybe someone on here who knows more about converters than I do could explain? It's a 3200 stall, came with the Stage 2 tranny from Performabuilt, I believe it has the lockup clutch according to the site, which I think it had a lot to do with that.

The heads/intake/cam I bought were from someone in the For Sale section here. I don't want to get into too much detail on it because I posted about it a while ago and got quite a negative response from it, to the point where I deleted the thread. If you would like details, feel free to PM me. Thanks

Are you looking to do the 200cc package from them?

I believe he bought them under the assumption they were heads that I had ported but later found out the guy scammed him or there might have been some grey area wher the guy possibly never actually siad they were ported by me but 95z28man misunderstood or was led to believe they were.

Not real sure but either way, the heads had very little done by the pics I saw and were definitely not anything i had ever touched.

I'm looking at either the 200cc ported stock heads or the 215cc trickflows. Either way, I sending in my old intake manifold to have it matched as well. I'm not sure on the cam situation yet, if I can, I might just keep the one I have but it would probably be more beneficial to save some more to get a whole package
