new lifters
58mm tb
42lb injectors

things i know i need

full gasket set (who has the best set/price)

I am sure you already know this, but if you are doing the lt4 intake, your gonna have to do the lt4 heads. Also, why such big injectors? Are you running an aftermarket FPR? 36 Would proboboly be a better idea to go with. However if you have a FPR I guess the 42's wouldn't be that bad. I am in the process of removing my engine as we speak and will be dropping in a 383 myself.

I am going with this setup.

383 Shortblock
Ported and Polished Heads by Lloyd Stage 3
52mm TB
36lb injectors
Tuning by Madz28.com

I personally think people see what someone else is doing and think, Oh I need that. I have a 52mm TB which is more than sufficient for what I am going to be doing, our 48mm TB's have been proven to produce a TON of HP and thats why I only upgraded to the 52mm. However your fuel depends on what rpm's you are going to be running your engine at as well. I plan on 6200-6400. I see some people doing 7000, which I think is just wear and tear but if they can prove with a dyno that it is doing otherwise I will shut my mouth.

I hope you have LT4 heads to fit the intake. The Fel-pro kit is outstanding. Has everything you need. Got mine from Summit but not sure if anyone else has it cheaper. You need to check the balance since one piece rear main seal cranks were originally designed to be externally balanced. Do we assume you have guide plates if you are using NSA rockers?

actually theyre lt1 heads that have been modified to work with the lt4 intake, they have very tall intake runners. i need the lt4 race gasket for the intake.

there is no down side to having oversized injectors. they will work fine when the PCM is properly tuned. better to have big injectors running an easy duty cycle than just enough to get by.

according to the CFM they flow, the 58mm was necessary for my plans. actually i should have gotten a mono-blade instead, but i got a great deal on this 58.

depends on where your cam was designed to run. mine is a custom grind that futral motorsports is doing, and from what ive seen of his cams, they are big and spin high, so ill probably be at the 6500-7k area.

Sounds like you know what you want.

I agree with most of what you said, however most of it is a personal preference. I prefer to have smaller injectors because tuning seems easier. However I would agree, bigger injectors are never a bad thing.

Also, there is a guy around this board with his total buildup cost of every part he bought. I use that time to time for useful information that I may forget.

Multiply total projected budget by 1.5.

If you lay out for every cost, 1.5 might suffice. However, in your case (knowing you are forgetting something), go ahead and go with x2 .
