383???

Alright I am having a 383 all forged bottom end 4-bolt main being built by golen. The heads are lt1 p/p flow 275/217 @.600 and I will be running a cc306, 1.6rr, etc and vig 3200 stall. So I was figuring around 470-480fwhp??? My main question is I have the computer programmed for this w/28lbs. injectors..............I know I need to step that up but to what 42, 36lbs? In the distant future like 2-4 years I plan to supercharge it. Also will it be safe to start and drive the car for break in purposes with the 28lbsers? Thanks.

At 480flywheelHP, the 28's are most likely going to be at 100% duty cycle at 480HP. So it wouldn't be a good idea to do any serious full throttle driving with them.

Re: 383???

For 480 flywheel hp you should go with at least 32lb injectors.. I would recommend 37lb Delphy injectors at 43.psi ..
According to the Formula: 480 / 2 / 0,8 / 8 = 37,5lb injectors

Thats what I got in mine. I got them from racetronix. If you were to jack fuel pressure and also tune for the increased pressure it is possible to get 42#'s out of them so possiblly for the supercharger you would be o.k. depending on the supercharger.

Re: 383???

I would think 36's would do the job. Call me up and I'll do a quick tune for the new injectors and you can head to the dyno for it to be tuned on a wide band.

Get the lucas 37# , not the crappy Accel brand. The lucas 37#s from racetronix are only $35 ($280 set) a piece and are cheaper and are a better quality peice. The accel are a few dollars more but are garbage.
There is a video floating around that shows someone with a set of accels and one injector looked like a garden hose spitting fuel out. Just get the Lucas injectors and be done with it. I have had zero problems with mine.

The car still needs to be fine tune as it is running really rich. I just finished the racetronix plug-n-play harness with the 255 walboro pump. Well... still gotta hook up the fuel lines, but its dark now....
Don't have any solid numbers yet. Been breakin stuff. Things look to be good now so I , hopefully can get it to the dyno in the next few weeks. The goal was for around 400 RWHP so I should be close.
Only got a lil' over a 1000 miles on this and it still ain't fast enough. Gonna have Lloyd do some worked over Trick flows with 2.08/ 1.62 valves and switching the pistons to -5cc flat tops to maintain my 11.8:1 compression ratio. Gonna spray a 200 HP shot so hopefully solid 10's will be a reality, we'll find out next year.
I'll post the dyno numbers whenever that happens.
